Every rule in the ranking answers a claim that vendors and comparison sites repeat. Here is the claim, the fact, and what it does to the score.

Myth
A European chat platform is safer than ChatGPT.
Fact
Langdock, meinGPT, Localmind, nele.ai and T-Systems run the same GPT, Claude and Gemini models on Azure, AWS or Google. Langdock's German GmbH belongs to a US holding company.
In the score
A platform on a US cloud gets almost no data protection credit over the US provider. Langdock counts as a US company.

Myth
The model is the same, whoever sells it to you.
Fact
OpenAI and Anthropic ship agents, connectors, deep research and MCP in their own apps first. Third-party platforms put the models behind a thinner interface and follow months later.

Claude is the privacy choice.
Fact
A new ChatGPT Business workspace can store its data in the EU, and ChatGPT Enterprise also processes it there. Claude stores all chat data in the US and has no EU region.

Myth
Zero data retention is one contract clause away.
Fact
Anthropic keeps prompts to its newest models, Fable and Mythos, for 30 days on every platform, with no exception. ChatGPT Business has no zero retention at all.

A platform that offers these models shows "Not for all models", never "Default". The zero retention rule removes it.

Myth
EU hosting means no US access.
Fact
The US CLOUD Act lets US authorities demand data from a US company wherever the data is stored. An EU region or an Irish contract partner does not change that.

Myth
An EU API or your own server is the cheap option.
Fact
The tokens are cheap. The chat interface, the gateway and the IT time to run them cost EUR 1,500 to 4,000 a month. The best open model scores 34 on the Artificial Analysis index, the best frontier model 58.

Any AI can connect to your ERP through its API.
Fact
An API means your team builds and maintains the connection. A built-in MCP connector works on day one.
In the score
A connection that you must build counts half as much as a built-in connector. Copilot and Gemini stay on the list without their office suite, with a penalty, because their licences come on top.

Which AI providers does the finder compare?
The finder compares 21 products: ChatGPT Business and Enterprise, Claude Team and Enterprise, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Gemini for Google Workspace, the chat platforms Langdock, meinGPT, Localmind, nele.ai and T-Systems, Mistral, Infomaniak Euria, the cloud APIs from Azure, AWS, IONOS, STACKIT, Scaleway, OVHcloud and Exoscale, and an open model on your own server.
How does the finder rank the providers?
Each provider gets a score from 0 to 1 on model quality, data protection, cost for your company size, connection to your systems and IT effort. Your answers set the weight of each point. A provider that breaks one of your hard rules comes off the list.
Is EU hosting enough under the GDPR?
EU hosting reduces the risk, but it does not remove US access. The CLOUD Act lets US authorities demand data from US companies wherever they store it. That applies to OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Google and AWS, to Langdock through its US holding, and to every platform that runs the models on their clouds.
How current are the prices?
We checked every price and retention term on the providers' own pages on 24 September 2026. US prices are converted at 1 USD = 0.88 EUR. Prices without VAT.
